Description:

Meet Mark! Mark is a Shar-Pei Mix that was found as a stray. He is a friendly, happy and bouncy boy. This sweet pup loves belly rubs, ear scritchies and any kind of attention. He really loves to be cuddled. Mark is a little on the chubby side yet, but he’s getting his wrinkles back and should be around 50-55 pounds at his best. He is a medium sized dog, and he can be vocal at times, so an apartment situation would not be a good match. This guy will do just about anything for a treat, and loves to head outside and sniff everything. We haven’t seen him show too much interest in our barn cats, but we do not know how he would do with indoor cats. He seems unfazed by horses, goats and chickens. Mark is housebroken, seems to be good with other dogs, and has done well with children in their tweens. Since we do not know his backstory, and Mark can jump and get pretty full of happiness, no children younger than 12. He has been excellent for the vet, and was a hit with the staff at his recent check-up. Mark rides well in a car harness, has no problem with being crated, and walks well on a leash. We have trained him to wear a gentle leader as he can get excited over deer, rabbits, and squirrels on walks or runs. This lovebug will do best with regular exercise and a fenced in yard. Active individuals in detached condo situations with perhaps a small fenced patio yard would also be a good match. No tie-outs or electronic fencing, a physical fence is needed. Mark has shown a tremendous athletic ability to jump after his recent weight loss, so the fence should be at least 36”. Mark can be shy sometimes, so positive motivational training is a must.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
