Description:
Teddy had a rough start, but it did not break his spirit!! A special needs gent with hearing loss and no ears; Teddy is a goofy, happy and playful German Shepherd. Teddy just wants someone to give back a little bit of that love he pours out so freely. He just wants to be a dog. Teddy spent his first years on a chain, ignored and suffering from chronic ear infections. Both of his ears, as well as, his ear flaps had to be removed due to extensive damage. After his surgery Teddy finally has found relief and is healthy enough to find his furever love. At first the shelter thought Teddy was around 6 to 8, but after getting him cleaned up and seeing Teddys behavior his surgeon and foster Mom agree that Teddy is more like 4, probably no more than 5 at the most. Teddys ideal home will have someone home the majority of the time, chilling on the couch with him or tossing a ball; either way he is happy just to have your company. He loves the company of similar sized, similar aged females, but males make him nervous and reactive. He would do better with a fenced in yard since he was on a chain for the first part of his life. This super sweet guy walks well on a leash, has learned basic commands with voice and hand signals, ( obviously responds better to the hand signals if not close), learned house manners, how to play fetch, to be nice to kitties and small animals. He will make an amazing companion for some one who is willing to give him a chance!! His foster Mom is willing to teach you all his signals to make the transition easier. His favorite toys are his soft fish and any thing thats a ball. Chasing sticks works too, but balls are always best!! If you think you may be Teddys happily ever after, please submit an application Now. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
