This is Gracie, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels. Gracie is about two years old and she weighs approximately 40 pounds. She is a beautiful and very sweet hound mix. Gracie was found as a stray and it was evident that she had recently nursed puppies which could not be located. Based on her mammary condition, our vet thinks they were old enough to be separated and that they were most likely sold. 

Gracie was apparently very scared at the Detroit Rescue facility as there are hundreds of dogs there and the environment can be noisy and confusing. We are helping Gracie to settle down and gain confidence; she is receiving a lot of love and special attention here. Gracie will be spayed and updated on her shots after a few weeks of decompression time. 

Gracie is extremely gentle when meeting new people and she perks up when other dogs are around her. She was quite hesitant to take walks at first but has a bounce in her step with her tail wagging when we walk her with another dog.

Needless to say, I’m going to want to find a very special home environment for this sweet girl; a forever home with a companion dog will be preferred. Please help me to help Gracie find the life she deserves so she never has to look back. I have already promised her that she won’t ever have to be scared again. 

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
