UPDATE:  Jackie boy has settled in quite nicely after several weeks. He is doing better with men--at first he is a little shy around them but once he has seen them a couple times he is better with them, although he still prefers a female caregiver. You will never have a problem walking him as he is always by your side. He is a fantastic companion dog; he loves to cuddle and he loves chewing on his antler. His favorite thing is snuggling next to you while you watch TV. Being with his person is the best thing in the world to him. You really can’t ask for a more loving or faithful friend than Jackie because once he chooses you, you are his for life.

Jackie Boy came to us from a shelter in Ohio. He is a Jack Russell /Chihuahua mix approximately three years old and 12 pounds. He is very loving towards women but a bit fearful of men. We don’t know much about his background but he is very sweet boy and follows his foster mom around wherever she goes. He also likes to be in a dog carrier when they go places, like to her brothers baseball games. He does get along ok with his three canine step brothers and sister, but we have no Cat, so that we don’t know. Because of his size, we suggest a home with older children or a home with none. We are still trying to get to know him so we will post more when we know more. 

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
