Thomas is the definition of a lap cat. He loves to be in the same room as his person and petted or held by his person if possible. Even on day one in his foster home, he was not one bit shy, did not hide at all, just wanted to be petted and loved on. Thomas is great with cats and kids, but hesitant around dogs; we believe he may have had some bad experiences with dogs during his time as a stray.
We rescued Thomas from a rural shelter in March 2018. He arrived there as a stray basically on death’s doorstep - upper respiratory infection, matted fur, emaciated and exhausted. He’s now in much better shape - thanks to the shelter and HDDCR.
Thomas is almost always purring. But he likes to chirp at you rather than meow. The shelter nicknamed him “Mr Chirpy” because whenever he “talked” it was in goofy little chirps; they thought a bird had gotten into the building.
Fun fact: Thomas lost part of his tail while he was a stray. When it came off, he was seen by a vet who gave him some pain meds (though he did not appear to be in any pain or behaving any different). See photo below. Poor guy!
Thomas is fine with wet or dry food. He uses the litter box fine. He does not attempt to make a break for it when you open the door - we think he just may like being an indoor cat! Please help Thomas find his forever home!
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
