Hi, I am Amara, and I was taken to a shelter after found in a box trying to stay warm in someone's garbage. Shortly after, the nice volunteers at Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue took me in so I could find the forever family every dog dreams of. I like people, but because I am a beautiful full-figured girl at 61 lbs, small children are not recommended. I sometimes forget how strong I am, and I would be afraid I would accidentally knock them down.

I have the energy of a puppy and enjoy playing with my dog buddies. If you like hugs and kisses I have plenty to give you. My foster mom is teaching me to sit if I want attention and if you are looking for a lap dog, I do like to snuggle and be by your side. 

With a regular routine I will do my business outside. I have been working on going into my crate on command, and have to say, I almost have that one down. My foster mom has been teaching me basic manners like sitting when I would like attention, waiting by the door to have my paws wiped when I have been outside, and also how to shake. Not quite sure what that last one is all about. I ride nicely in the car and enjoy playing with my dog buddy who lives with me. Since I have not had the opportunity to be around cats, I am unsure if we would make good friends or not.

I would really like to meet someone who has time to make me the best canine citizen ever!

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
