Description:

Free would do best in an only dog home.  She does love the company of other dogs.  However, for meal time only, she can be protective of her food from other animals. She cannot be roaming with other dogs when dog food is distributed amongst the bowls.  She must be crated and away from other dogs.

Free is a truly remarkable little lady! She is 7 years old and still a bundle of playful fun energy. She loves her walks and playtime, but she is also down to chill on the couch with you once she gets her energy out. She bonds really closely with her adult people. She is ok with kids but not overly interested in them so while she would be a great family dog if you are looking in particular for a calm dog for small young children she may not be the best fit. If you currently have pets she will need to meet them.

This girl has been through so much. From being betrayed by her family, to surviving heart worm and a dog attack. She wants to live and be loved. She has been waiting to be chosen since Sept of 2016. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a very caring person. You will still need to go through the adoption process. She will not go home to just anyone. She needs a home for the rest of her life, where no one will ever let her down again. Please please consider this great dog, she will reward your life richly.

Free came into the rescue after an urgent plea by a college student that was desperate to save her! This wonderful human being saved her from a family that was giving Free away that was going to euthanize her when the last day came and no one had taken her. She was so desperate to save this dog's life that she slept in her car with Free for 3 days! She could not bring Free to her parents' condo due to the breed discrimination of the condo association. She did not have any money, no food for herself,  but made sure Free was ok!

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
