This is Nelson. He's about a year old, neutered, up to date on shots and available for adoption. He is a very sweet and friendly young boy. He had this misfortune of being returned to the shelter because he was experiencing pain. Happy Days saved him and found out that he has a bone growth in his neck that affects communication between his brain and legs. We have nicknamed him "Weebles" since his condition makes him wobble as he walks. It caused him to yelp and cry in pain as a puppy. Since he's been with us, he really hasn't shown many signs of pain. It seems like he's learned to maneuver so as not to aggravate his condition. He has seen a neurosurgeon to operate and remove the excess bone but it is felt that is it not needed. He runs, wrestles with my pit bulls, and is able to climb into the car and onto the couch. He can't really jump or lift his leg to pee. He loves everyone he meets and gets along great with our dogs. He loves our cat, but she's not as fond of his antics. He is still learning manners and isn't always aware of his size, strength or space, so he would do better in a home with older children. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
